For the candidates who gave it all of their time
in Georgia
Arizona

In memory of the thousands who just lost their lives
and the children torn from families
who committed no crimes
For the hopeful
the despairing
often one and the same
For the faithful public servants
we'll not know by name
For those who simply refused to give in
who had learned from our history
the triumphs and sins
For all of the people all over the globe
who counted on us
to stand firm and hold
firmly to truth and not run from the lies
Tonight we can share a victory hard won,
a gift to the future--
and we know we're not done.
We've forged friendships, commitments,
and learned so damn much
It's simply essential we all stay in touch!
